Portals Presents: Hexcut, Jakabol, Intoku
Signature Brew Haggerston, E8 4EA , [Venue Details]Hexcut blend elements of rock, modern jazz and electronica in a unique, genre-defying sound. Combining technical precision with strong hooks and expansive electronic soundscapes, their music moves from dark and heavy to uplifting and immersive.
After seven years of instrumental releases, Hexcut have welcomed singer and keyboardist Abbey May to their lineup. She brings her soaring voice and powerful lyrics to the band’s sound, weaving seamlessly into the fabric of the music.
The Guardian once described heavy folk-prog chameleons Jakabol as “bucolic one moment, psychotic the next.” The Bristol based experimental outfit carve their own path through a kaleidoscopic, genre bending, musical world. They are as at home in the landscape of pastoral folk as they are in the maelstrom of heavily distorted metal and psych rock freak outs.
Intoku are a Bristol-based dark electronic trio crafting emotionally charged, genre-blurring soundscapes. Formed through a decade-long collaboration, they fuse seismic basslines, atmospheric synth textures, and explosive hybrid drumming with soaring, soul-baring vocals. Their music moves fluidly between atmospheric delicacy and visceral intensity - always grounded in lyrical honesty.
